We staked out the house yesterday and we were very lucky to have nice weather. It took us four hours, we started with a rectangle the size of our house and we did not like where it sat. Then after talking it over we decided to move it over about 25 feet and make the house into a mirror image of itself. So now the garage is on the left and the house is on the right. I love the new location of the main part of the house because the view is spectacular; all I need to do know is change my mental image of what the house will look like.
Our design firm/contractor is going to talk to a builder today or tomorrow and if everything goes well the builder will start on our house in January. (He has to finish the house he is building now) That will give us time to get the soil test done, the home loan finalized, and cut down enough trees to start moving heavy equipment back there.
