House Update

We had a very busy weekend. We have sold our old house and last weekend we moved out. Since our new house is not ready yet, we had to put our furniture in storage. However, to make room for the furniture we moved all of the boxes that we had into the storage area into the bonus room of our new house. Scott and I worked all weekend with the help of nine friends and relatives and we finished almost all of the work. We just have a few odds and ends at our old house that Scott and I will pack up and move ourselves this week. I can not thank everyone that helped enough, they were wonderful. It is nice to know we have so many people that will lend a hand when we need one.

House Update

The house is still progressing, we have some siding hung on the outside of the house and they have been taping and mudding the inside of the house. We had hoped that they would be finished taping and mudding by this weekend so we could start putting paint the walls but that did not happen. We should be able to start paining over the long thanksgiving weekend though. I sure hope so because some of our flooring is going to be installed on Monday the 27th and I want to have those rooms painted before the floor goes in.

Well instead of paining our new house we are moving out of our old house. It is going to be a long weekend of packing boxes and moving everything. Luckily we had a lot of it packed away before we put it on the market so it is not as bad as it could have been. Wish me luck.

House Update

Last week was a much more productive week for the house. On Monday we were told that all of the Dry Wall would be up by the end of the week. By Friday it was not looking good, but they came through for us by brining in 6 guys who worked all day Saturday and three guys to finish it up on Sunday. Because of that, we now have all of our dry wall up inside the house. Today they start taping and mudding, and we should start painting this weekend. Also, our Siding should be there today and the builder is out there working so hopefully I have siding on my house already.

Scott and I worked on the house this weekend too, Scott, Johnny, and Cody installed stone on the front of the house and they are making great progress. I hung some ice house roof, and Scott & I installed boards in the attic so we can walk up there after the insulation has been sprayed. The flooring is scheduled for insulation on November 27th and the cabinets will be installed soon after that. Things are moving along… finally.

House Update

This last week was a long unproductive week on the house. We have come to the stage were everything inside the house is ready for drywall to be hung. We worked diligently preparing everything for the dry wall to be installed and when installers started working, they worked off and on for about 8 hours and then stopped. They have not hung a sheet of drywall since last Sunday! Scott and I are so frustrated; they have just cost us a week of time when we are already worried that we will not be in by Christmas. They finally got word back to us today that one of the guy’s Son was in a sports competition in Jefferson City so they were out of town for the week. What timing! We have their promise that they will finish all their work next week, and that the people that will tape and mud the dry wall are ready to go. I am hoping they will fulfill their promise.

Well we did get a little accomplished, since my last post. Scott, his friend Johnny, and Johnny’s Son have prepped the front of the house for cultured stone & stucco, and Scott is picking it up today so they can start putting it on tomorrow. And, drum role please, we now have Electricity running to the House!! Yeah, no more generators!!

Oh no, the crazy cat lady symptoms are already evident. I'm in trouble. :)

Sure, you're the same age. That's what all the crazy cat-ladies say.

Thanks Donna. I will work on getting more photos. I need to get some of the kids on the 4-wheeler. They rode it for about 2 hours yesterday while Scott and I put up the mail box. They are becoming country kids. :)

Congratulations to the Ashwells on their new, beautiful home!!!

Did you move in on your anniversary?

We need more photos when it warms up.

I think y'all have epitomized the word fortitude, especially from Aug. to Feb.

My friend's daughter (she's in Mrs Navo's class) is singing tonight too. She told me last night that today is her "special day." They are sooo cute at that age!

No, that is not my house. Mine is in the woods but there is no lake. It is near the strobe light on the channel 24 tower.
